Apple iPhone 5 Case

It's time to exhibit "iPhone 5 case". Note that, as with other cases, they seem to provide a cutout in the top right-hand corner. What is this meant to be for? The flash? If that is so why the cutout to the top left showing both camera and flash?

Now, to tool up and turn out even a prototype is a expensive exercise therefore one would imagine, no case manufacturer would go to that cost unless they knew something others don't.

To make cases requires accurate directions. To get the directions means having a spy somewhere in Foxconn or knowing somebody who knows a spy. Or, if a rival has got the directions, having a spy in that camp. The precise dimensions to allow a manufacturer to make a mold would be worth lots of cash (some say up to US$200,000) "which is some temptation, isn't it? That is, of course, if whoever has got hold of the information is prepared to risk imprisonment.

So , there must be something in these cases, mustn't there?

Absolutely not, in our perspective. Which case manufacturer in their right mind would disclose information which would be of use to a rival? If they have the dimensions then they are going to keep awfully quiet about it. They can anonymously make their own mold and be placed to go into manufacture far in advance of the iPhone5 release date. It's a scam then? In our perspective, definitely yes.

Does someone have the real dimensions to allow them to make a mold? Well, according to our Englishman in HK, the answer's yes. We are hoping to have more info for you within the following day or so. But what we wish to see is not another Photoshopped image of an imaginary case but of the mold or housing, itself.
