Most of the older generation doesn't like to use a cell phone. You'll find that there are some that will use cell phones but a lot of the senior population simply isn't as open to the new advancements in technology. Keeping that in mind though there are so many benefits to a senior having a cell phone, especially those that are still active and the land line isn't going to help them when they're out and an emergency happens.

Most cell phone companies, including yours, are going to offer you multiple options to choose from. With the cell phones constantly changing and evolving and with everything not centralized to a senior market it's not totally cut and dry on which phone exactly is going to be the best for the senior citizen. Keeping that in your mind when you're purchasing the cell phone there are some features that you should be looking for with just about any senior.

The most ideal cell phone will have a keypad in which the numbers are easy to ready. The phones that offer this large dialing display are going to be among the best. Also you need to make sure the phone offers volume options for turning it up louder or having a good speakerphone. If the senior you're purchasing for has hearing aids you need to make sure the phone is compatible with them.

During the process of finding cell phones with those features you want to make sure that the phone you're purchasing is easy for them to use. Predominantly the cell phones that you find today come loaded with the applications and the additional features that most seniors simply don't want. It won't fit the mold and they don't want it or want to go anywhere near a phone like this or especially a smart phone.

Any cell phone works good for 911 emergencies. Important to note, any cell phone no matter if the phone has service or no service is still mandated to have 911 dialing capability. You'll also have some that will have some options where you can pay for the calls that you have to make should there be the need to get a hold of someone other than 911 if an emergency or something else of the sort occurs.

The bottom line is that you know your senior better than anyone else so you'll know their needs better than anyone else. Find them a phone which is easy to use, has the features that they need with not having too many of the features that they don't need. Even the senior that is the most against using a cell phone will appreciate you and your thought and learn to appreciate they have an outlet if something bad should happen.
