The iPad 3 is a device that many people have been waiting for, and Apple has at last made it available. What is strange about the advertisement for this product is that Apple has not actually called it iPad 3 - it is just an iPad. Though many people do refer to it as iPad 3, the reason is simple - it is a third-generation iPad, hence the seemingly obvious name. Whatever you choose to call it, in this review we'll be taking a close look at both the advantages and disadvantages of the latest iPad from Apple.

Getting online has never been easier, especially since the new iPad is 4G and WiFi capable. Both Verizon and AT&T allow you to connect to the Internet regardless of where you travel or live. Many people travel internationally. So to connect, you will need a local SIM card to do this. Having higher speeds is just one of the ways that Apple is making sure that the new iPad is up-to-date. If you want to surf the Internet, or join a chat group and talk with friends, all of this is still possible. If you have a MacBook, or an iPod, you can connect with these other Apple devices using your iPad. A new data plan will be required. You don't have to have a contract, as it is only a month-to-month plan.

A great way to do video calls is with FaceTime on your iPad. You are able to switch back and forth between your new iPad's two cameras to show whatever you want to. Using the front FaceTime camera, you can let people see you. The iSight camera will show the scene you are looking at, so you can show the person you're talking to what's around you. You'll have to have an Apple ID (available at the iTunes store) to use the FaceTime call features. You can then use this feature on your iPad, as well as any device that supports FaceTime.

One criticism people had about the original iPad was that it didn't support Flash. Even though Apple has had upgrades, this is one change they have never made. You won't be able to access the Flash features that many websites have. This also limits your options for watching videos. The popularity of Flash is dwindling according to what a lot of people think. Pressure seems to be being applied to people by Apple to get them to use alternate ways, so iPad has more content that is compatible. To view many websites and videos, it is still true that flash capability is required. You get a lot of features with the latest iPad, but this is one you will have to do without.

Not cheap at all, priced at $500, this is an expensive tablet indeed. It is a lot less expensive to buy a simple notebook computer if all you want to do is surf the web and use a few basic programs every now and then. The price will definitely be worth it to you if you will use all of the features that the iPad has, plus enjoy using a touch screen. The device that is called iPad 3, has useful and fun features of a wide variety. Apple continues to improve its creation, and the latest version will not disappoint many people. Some of the criticisms of the earlier iPads, such as lack of Flash, and incompatibility with traditional computers are still valid. However, when you consider how much you can do with the new iPad, it's still a good value.
