While we have heard plenty in the media about spyware and malware for pcs, the same phenomenon actually exists for cell phones as well. So, curious minds are probably asking "How does cell phone spyware work?", to which we indeed have an answer.

Cell phone spyware is, effectively-speaking, a trojan type virus which tracks your activity on the cell phone and sends that information to a 3rd party. These programs can also capture your texts and also make them readable to other people. It can also command your cell phone to block certain callers, can access the stored images within your phone, and can access certain stored files within your phone. This can even work when the cell phone is off, not only when it is on and actively in use. The necessary program for using cell phone spyware to monitor someone else's cell phone does not even have to be on a phone. It can be on a bluetooth enabled laptop or laptop that has been equipped with the right bluetooth spyware for all those devices. All of the above activities can be executed without a trace being left on the target phone.

So how exactly does mobile phone spyware work when it is pre-downloaded onto a phone? Such spyware is very widespread and available because parents make use of it as a tool to track their kids, for instance. It can also be used to monitor employees, or people that you suspect are involved in illicit activities, such as theft or romantic affairs. Call histories and durations might be recorded and logged, and sometimes even live conversations can be listened to and recorded.

The most weak devices these days are smart phones and PDAs. Cell phone spyware may be saved as email from the Internet, from instant messages, or from sharing certain files. The convenience of being able to surf the web from a smart phone has increased the chances of downloading that kind of software onto a cell phone.

So how exactly does cell phone spyware work if you don't download anything extraneous onto your phone? Easy. It doesn't. So if the right program or software is not in place, the spyware system will never function properly. Furthermore, if the cell phone's owner has downloaded anti-spyware or antivirus software, there are some chances that the spyware won't function.

Cell phone spyware has a variety of utilities, and will be of help for very specific functions.
