For those of us that have grown up in the world of video games and computers using something like the Android marketplace may come naturally. However for those that are not as familiar with current technology it can be quite the struggle. The simple fact is android phones are no longer only for the young generation, everyone is getting in on the action.

This article is for those that want to grasp and use Android phones but they simply do come as easy to them as they do to some. The marketplace is where the magic happens on your phone, if you have one and are not using it then you are missing out.

If you wish to use the marketplace the first step is to get a gmail account on your device if you have not already. To accomplish this go into your application menu and click on the icon that says gmail. This will pop up a screen where you can either login to a already existing gmail or allow you to create a new one.

Once your gmail account is on your device you need to go back into the application list again and this time click or touch on the market application. This will open up the system you will use to download applications. Once this is open you can use various different ways to get the apps or games that you are looking for.

For starters you can use their pre-made categories to search for a application. This is not hard to do just touch the category followed by the sub category. For example apps followed by business apps. After you pick your category you can pick from new or free or paid ones. The list comes up will be from most to least popular.

Know what you are looking for and don't need a category then we have just the thing for you, a simple search button found in the top right corner of the marketplace. Once you tap on that just punch in the name on your keyboard and viola there are all the apps that match that name. Find what you want, click on it. Same as before you now have that app in possession on your phone in, you guessed it, the apps list.

With this knowledge you will be able to find and download new applications for your Android device. This is when your device will really start to come alive for you. Remember that many paid apps are available with a free version that just some few ads that are easily ignored. Hope this helps you and happy hunting.
