Many people do not know how to fix a water damaged phone. Some ways will fix the problem instantly, while others require a time investment. There are basically three phone-drying techniques that will be described in this article: the simple dry approach, the rice method, and the alcohol strategy. .

The first thing to remember after taking the device out of the water is to NOT turn it on. This will cause more damage to it and, possibly, prevent it from working all together.

The towel method is the easiest way to fix the device. If it has been immersed in H2O for a matter of seconds, this process may prove successful. Simply take the battery and sim card, if there is one, out of the device, wrap each individual part in a cloth, and put it in front of a fan to dry. For best results, let it dry in front of the fan for at least 24 hours.

The rice strategy has been proven to be the most successful and popular way to retrieve power to a water-damaged mobile. Simply take the battery and sim card, if there is one, out of the device and place them into a bag of dry rice. The rice will naturally absorb any moisture in the contraption. Leave it for at least 12 to 24 hours.

The alcohol approach is the fastest solution to dry out the mobile. Remove the battery and sim card, and submerge the device into rubbing alcohol for approximately five minutes. Even though this strategy has been effective for many people, it is not recommended for every situation.

Many people do not realize that the alcohol method can cause further damage if research is not done beforehand. For instance, the alcohol has been known to damage not only the plastic, but the adhesive and image sensor's (CCD or CMOS) of phones. The alcohol technique should be used as a last resort.

All mobile devices now have an indicator strip that informs the provider if the device was damaged by an encounter with H20. Sadly, most insurance policies and extended warranties will not pay for water damaged mobile phones. Although these solutions do not work in every situation, many people have discovered how to fix a water damaged phone with these simply techniques.
