Using the HTC Evo 3D to Watch Video

The upcoming EVO 3D is a lot like 2D, which would be about a year old when the 3D officially hits the shelves. HTC has always been making improvements and upgrades across the board, but it's still an EVO with a more powerful machine backing it up. HTC also managed to somehow keep the weight of the phone identical to its predecessor, which is very impressive considering the technological improvements. One change we've had were mixed feelings about the increased width. On one hand, the Evo 3D is certainly easier to manipulate, especially if you have big paws, but on the other, accessories are incompatible with this device and vice versa. In other words, we'll all have to buy a new case and a new screen protector, at the very least.

The greatest thing about the phone's 3D implementation is that it integrates 3D technology well nicely with almost every aspect of your phone without needing 3D glasses. You'll even access the home screen in 3D, and apps that integrate core UI elements will be available in 3D too. Many different applications will not utilize that, and the phone has a built-in 2D function as well. The early 3D screens on smart phones had issues displaying 2D properly, but the Evo 3D does it without a hitch. It even compares up to your mobile phone.

A big reason why there's such a huge demand for 3D smart phones right now is the reinvigorated 3D craze. Virtually every movie that's been released these days have been invigorated with 3D technology. Certain 3D players have had limitations where they can't display the 3D technology correctly while tracking through the video player. This can make the feature nearly unusable, especially on small screens. The EVO 3D doesn't have problem, and it actually allows you to browse video with pinch and zoom mechanics.

The EVO 3D phone has a built-in 3D camera that allows you to shoot 3D videos. In anticipation of the rise of popularity, Google has already started up a 3D version of the website. You'll be able to post videos directly from your phone to the services, and you'll be able to watch videos posted by other users. This smart phone also has pinch and zoom features for easy manipulation, and the only limitation is the video quality.

The bottom line is that the Evo's stereoscopic 3D effect is as good as we've seen on a smart phone, and HTC has even significantly minimized some of the most common problems, such as poor viewing angles. In addition, the integration of pinch-zoom into the 3D video display is one of the neatest new features we've come across in a while, and we now consider it a must-have feature for people who watch a lot of video, especially full-length features, on their phone.
