Get DIY iPhone Ringtones

Our mobile phones have been the primary way for us to indulge in our human nature of gregariousness. As such, we perceive them to be a crucial part of our lives and personalize it fit our character which is what we the do to our iPhone ringtones.

The very first reason that makes people opt for free iPhone ringtones is that they won't need to pay to have ringtones that are professionally made. Free iPhone ringtones are also blessings to those who desire to have a variety of ringtones on their iPhone yet don't know how to make one.

Unless perhaps you have some underground connections, iPhone ringtones are most easily acquired through iTunes. However, there's one other way of developing your own unique ringtone. All you need to have is the iTunes software installed on your PC and a few of your favored music in mp3 format.

*Step 1 - Double click on your iTunes icon on your desktop to run iTunes.

* Step 2 - From your most favored songs, you would have to pick one which will serve as your ringtone.

* Step 3 - as you say that some through the iTunes software, select a portion of it for your unique ringtone.

* Step 4 - At this point, all you have to do is ensure you take down the beginning and ending point of the segment of the song for your ringtone.

* Step 5 - The next step would be to right-click while the song is selected and choose "Get Info."

* Step 6 - Next, you need to select the "Options" tab.

* Step 7 - Next to the "start time", type in the starting point of your ring tone in the box. It will be in minutes:seconds (i.e. 2:01) format.

* Step 8 - - Once you have specified the starting point, input also the end point of the ring tone you want. Check and make sure that your ring tone is not more than 40 seconds in length.

* Step 9 - Next is to click "OK."

* Step 10 - While the song is selected, right-click and choose the option "Convert Selection to AAC." It will take a few seconds for iTunes to convert your song.A new, duplicate version will be created.

* Step 11 - The next step would be to right-click on the ringtone and choose "Delete."

* Step 12 - The next step would be to select the "Keep Files" button on the screen.

* Step 13 - Locate the file which would most probably be in the User folder under Music > iTunes > iTunes Music and stored under the band's name with an extension of "m4a."

* Step 14 - Change your current "m4a" ringtone extension with "m4r". There are two options available in order to change the file name extension. One way is to double-click it slowly, or another way is to right-click and select "Get Info" on a Mac or on a Windows PC, choose "Rename."

* Step 15 - The next step would be to click "Use .m4r" or the PC equivalent when the computer warns you about the change of file details.

* Step 16 - Click the ringtone file twice.This will put the newly created ringtone to your ringtones folder in your iTunes Music Library.

* Step 17 - To complete the process, connect your iPhone and sync your ringtones.

Viola! You have just successfully created your personal ringtone that is unique only to your iPhone! You can do it again!
