The Benefits Of Pay As You Go Phones

Pay as you go phones were not well received when they first came out on the market. They were cheap and limited in capabilities, but there were so many benefits to them that large phone companies could not ignore them for long, and soon had to face the prospect of sharing the market.

Customers wanting phone service typically had to put down large deposits, pay fees, sign multiple year long contracts that grew tiresome very quick. Minute phones had none of those requirements, all that was needed was the money to purchase the phone, and then buy minutes, and you had cell phone service just that easy.

Credit checks, early termination and over time fees were a thing of the past for many consumers. It was always known exactly how much time you had left to use the phone and if more minutes were needed all it took was a trip to the store to buy some.

They opened the doors for many young adults to be able to purchase and maintain phones, people with bad credit now had an option that did not cost an arm and a leg, and things were changing in the industry. Bigger companies had to adjust to the new process.

The only real problems with the phones were the lack of service or signal in some areas. Once the bigger corporations got tired of losing customers they started marketing their own contract free phones and making deals with current ones to let them use their cell towers. That solved the reception issue.

Pay as you go phones have changed the cellular phone industry over the past decade, and they continue to become more innovative every year. The margin of difference between contract phones and the non contract ones has all but disappeared.
