Installing a Screen Protector on the HTC Inspire

Once you've chosen the perfect accessories, including a screen protector, it's time to begin customizing your phone. Unfortunately, unlike a case, screen protectors are not that easy to install. This means that if you have bought a high quality screen guard you will want to be extra careful. Installing the screen protector improperly will either leave you looking at air pockets and trapped dirt or force you to take the screen protector off and try again. You cannot keep removing it because it will not have the same stick as the first time it was used.

Before installing your screen protector, you need to clean the screen. Many screen protectors come with a small cleaning cloth that you can use to clean the screen. If your screen protector did not come with a cleaning cloth, any felt or microfiber cloth will do. Again, we cannot emphasize this enough, the screen must be completely clean and dry before installation can begin. Even though the screen looks clean it can still have some oils left by your fingers and this can cause the screen protector to peel off.

Before removing the screen protector from the film backing, place the protector on your screen. It is always good to know how big the screen is in comparison to the actual screen guard. You will soon start to notice that not all of these protectors come as a perfect fit for your mobile device. It makes it very easy if you already have some sort of idea of you will install the screen protector.

Next, look at the screen guard and see if there are any small flaps that will work as handles. Many protectors have at least one small removable flap that can be used as a handle once the screen protector has been removed from the film. If you need help and there are no flaps, you can simply stick a piece of clear tape to the top of the protector. Holding on to the tape, lift the protector up and position it on the screen. Don't ever touch the adhesive side of the screen protector. Doing so will leave smudges that cannot be removed. Once everything is in position, you can start to place the screen protector from the top edge. You then only need to slowly lay the rest of the guard down till you reach the bottom of the screen.

The tape can then be removed once the protector has been successfully installed. Next, take a credit card and slowly try to smooth out any air bubbles under the screen protector. Refrain from lifting the screen protector up to release air bubbles. All air bubbles will be removed if you did the installation correctly. After you've gotten rid of any air bubbles, you can snap on your case, charge your battery with your charger, and begin using the phone without worrying about damaging the screen.
