The very first thing you should do is purchase a screen protector. Screen protectors are thin pieces of adhesive plastic film that lay over a mobile phone's screen to keep it from getting scratched. There is nothing worse to happen to your phone than having the screen heavily damaged. Screen scratches are the most obvious types of damage a phone can get, as the screen is where users primarily focus on. With a screen as large and glossy as the G2X's, any scratch or dings on its screen are completely obvious and detract from its allure and usability. Screen protectors are one of the cheapest accessories you can get, but pay off tremendously in terms of smart phone protection.

After installing a screen protector, your next step should be to purchase a case. The case will protect the body of the phone. They come in all shapes, sizes, and styles. Most cases are made out of silicone, leather, or hard plastic. There are some cases that are designed to permanently stay on the phone so that it remains protected at all times. A lot of cases also act like a holster, so you can have a place to put your phone when it is not in use. Some of these cases can also be clipped onto belts or even around your neck with a strap. This type of case typically has some sort of strap that closes around the case with a metal snap or a magnet.

Even when using screen protectors and cases, your phone is bound to get dirty through normal use. There are things like food particles, oils, dirt and dust that quickly make the mobile phone look old and dirty. It is really easy to clean it though using cleaning cloths, cotton balls, or swabs. Just dab a bit of rubbing alcohol onto the cloth or swab and gently clean the entire case. Do not use alcohol on the screen, however, as alcohol can easily damage the screen. If you do not have any type of alcohol to clean the body of the phone then a small amount of water will be good enough. Be sure to clean all components, include the large sides of the casing, the keypad, the small side the track pads, and other small buttons.

You can use a small, soft toothbrush to clean the speaker port, earpiece area, and charger port. Place a bit of alcohol on the bristles and gently brush the toothbrush around these areas. Be extremely gentle as it is very easy to ruin these parts if you brush too hard. Finally, to clean the screen, apply some window cleaner to a tissue or soft cloth and gentle rub it on the screen until it is clear and glossy again.

This smart phone is an excellent phone with many features and capabilities but, as with all electronic devices, proper care is essential for continued, flawless operation. If you follow the previously mentioned tips you will have a very good looking and functioning device.
